National Catholic Education Commission

National Catholic Education Commission is a large-scale charity established in 1974. Their main activity is registered as civic and advocacy activities primarily serving people with disabilities.

The NCEC's major focus in 2018 was liaison and consultation with the Commonwealth Government on the reform of school funding arrangements. Research and analysis were also major activities of the NCEC with a particular emphasis on new funding arrangements for schools in Australia. Throughout the year, NCEC made representations though high level consultative meetings and written submissions to government and the federal Department of Education on a variety of issues. The NCEC undertook negotiations and representation. It also consulted with an supported Catholic education in each state and territory and complemented the state/territory Catholic Education Commission activities. During 2018, NCEC continued to monitor and disseminate matters of interest in faith formation and religious education. NCEC also continued to participate in high level representations relating to the national education agenda including the areas of the Australian curriculum, the quality of teaching and learning, national student testing and the reporting of student outcomes.
