Also known as “CAFWA-SA” and “Child and Family Focus SA”, Child And Family Welfare Association Of Sa Inc is a medium-scale charity established in 1990. Their main activity is registered as family services primarily serving early childhood - aged under 6 children - aged 6 to under 15 youth - 15 to under 25 families aboriginal and torres strait islander people gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex persons people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background people in rural/regional/remote communities people at risk of homelessness/ people experiencing homelessness people with disabilities females males.
Child and Family Focus SA (CAFFSA) is the South Australian peak body representing the needs and interests of children, young people and families connected with or at risk of entering the child protection system, and the not-for-profit, non-government organisations who support them. Our vision is of an inclusive community where all children, young people and families are secure, safe and supported. The purpose of CAFFSA is to represent the needs and interests of children, young people and families connected with or at risk of entering the child protection system, and the not-for-profit, non-government organisations who support them. Child and Family Focus SA (CAFFSA) is also the principle industry association supporting those not-for-profit organisations who provide various forms of prevention and early intervention, family support, out of home care [including foster care and residential care], and other child protection and child safety services. We represent small, medium and large community service organisations across South Australia in metropolitan and country locations, and act in the interests of children, young people and their families. CAFFSA fulfills a leadership role in the child, youth and family support sector, representing over 40 South Australian organisations and community groups working across the continuum of child, youth and family support services. We set high sector standards to establish and preserve the support and trust of our members, the elected state and federal governments, key stakeholders and the community at large. We work with stakeholders to bring about positive systemic reform to deliver better outcomes in the lives of vulnerable children, young people and their families. As a peak body, CAFFSA strives to support its members to achieve high levels of service and support provision to vulnerable children and families and is committed to high-quality service development and delivery that is responsive to consumer needs.
