M.A.R.C.I.A Women's Refuge Incorporated
Also known as “Macarthur Gateway Resource Services”, M.A.R.C.I.A Women's Refuge Incorporated is a medium-scale charity established in 1986. Their main activity is registered as income support and maintenance primarily serving aboriginal and torres strait islander people.
We provided sustainable tenancies and brokerage services to 289 Aboriginal women and children within the areas of Liverpool, Fairfield, Camden, Wollondilly and Campbelltown. The services have included women's healing groups and advocating for Aboriginal communities to have a voice in relation to ROSH reporting and removal of Aboriginal Children. Macarthur Gateway assisted 180 year 6 Aboriginal and non Aboriginal students with all necessary material to attend year 7. 60 pack-packs were provided to Bonnyrigg Primary, Briar Rd Primary and Ambervale Primary. The service attends DV working groups, keeping children safe, NAIDOC day each year and attends all relevant Aboriginal advisory groups within the local LGA's.
