Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre Inc manages a range of services and programs the Neighbourhood Centre core project that provides information and assisted referrals to link individuals and families with the help they need and seek as well as emergency financial assistance, frozen meals and free lunches to people who are socially and financially disadvantaged, generalist counselling, Work & Development Orders. The Centre also runs low or no cost activities and events aimed at encouraging inclusion, participation and connecting people with their community. Bellingen Shire Youth Services provides youth case management and life-skills development programs & support for young people 12 - 18 years and their families. The Bellingen DHS Agency assists people in the Bellingen Shire with Centrelink, Medicare and Family Assistance lodgement, online services and enquiries. Bellingen Shire No Interest Loans Scheme provides safe and affordable credit to people on low-incomes who would not otherwise be eligible for credit through mainstream financial institutions; and is a responsible alternative to pay-day lenders. Work and Development Orders offer alternatives such as volunteer work, engaging in approved health and parenting programs etc to eligible people on low-incomes who cannot afford to pay fines incurred.
