Variety Queensland Inc
Also known as “Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland”, Variety Queensland Inc is a large-scale charity established in 1996. Their main activity is registered as grant-making activities primarily serving general community in australia.
Variety empowers Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs to live laugh and learn. Our vision is for all Australian children to reach their full potential regardless of ability or background. In 2019, Variety Queensland gave 6,523 Aussie kids a fair go through grants of equipment and services, Variety Heart Scholarships, programs and experiences. We provided 97 grants of equipment and services to provide practical help to kids and organisations in need. These grants help children gain independence and social inclusion by providing mobility equipment, Variety Sunshine Coaches, communications equipment, and educational supplies. We awarded 27 Variety Heart Scholarships of up to $5,000 per year per child in the areas of sports, arts and education. These scholarships fund lessons/coaching, uniforms, equipment and travel fees to help children with an identified talent to achieve their dreams. We delivered programs including the Variety Kids Sports Camp, which gave 25 kids with disabilities the opportunity to try 9 different sports with the help of mentors and Paralympians, as well as the Variety Kids Choir, which provides an inclusive all-abilities opportunity to sing and have fun. We delivered a variety of engaging and joyful experiences to kids in need and their families, including the annual Variety Special Children's Christmas Party and Variety Sea of Smiles, which gives kids with a disability the opportunity to experience water sports including jet skiing.
