North & North West Community Legal Service Inc

North & North West Community Legal Service Inc is a large-scale charity established in 1996. Their main activity is registered as law and legal services primarily serving people in rural/regional/remote communities.

We provided FREE legal advice and assistance to everyone in the north and north west of NSW this reporting year. Our Purpose & Objectives are to increase access to the legal system for people who are living with disadvantage, to help clients be better informed of their legal and social rights and to provide our community and groups with education with the aim of increasing people's knowledge and understanding of the law and their rights. Every year we work towards a more just, equitable and accessible society for all people. We are based in Armidale and operate Outreach clinics throughout our entire catchment visiting Walcha, Werris Creek, Quirindi, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Moree, Inverell, Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Glen Innes Correctional Centre, Guyra and University of New England on a monthly basis. We visit Tamworth fortnightly. We also operate a Court Liaison Program in Armidale visiting the Court House every Monday on list days to assist first-time court users on the day or represent clients ineligible for the duty solicitor. We attend Tenterfield Court House every month with this same program.
