We continued promoting ways to prevent/control/reduce disease including chronic disease, in the urban Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander population (primarily in SE Qld) including through access to culturally appropriate primary and allied health care services through our integrated System of Care including programs to prevent and treat chronic disease, delivering and licencing 'Deadly Choices' brand preventative health promotion programs (in most Australian States & Territories), integrating & coordinating care across the lifespan to prevent/reduce incidence of disease - resulting in making a material difference to closing the health gap. We assisted our Member organisations deliver similar services. We also contributed to education and research to prevent disease; training partnerships & student placement to increase a relevant culturally appropriate workforce and operate a community legal service accessible to clients to address health/justice issues. During the COVID lockdown we adapted programs to virtual delivery were possible, supported clients through alternative methods were they could not, provided State-wide COVID messaging and led an emergency response to support over 2000 Elders without Commonwealth funded aged care services in capital cities who had become isolated.
