Daughterly Care Community Services Limited
Daughterly Care Community Services Limited is a large-scale charity established in 2014. Their main activity is registered as aged care activities primarily serving adults - aged 65 and over.
Daughterly Care Community Services Ltd (DCCS) became a Registered Charity & Not-For-Profit Organisation in 2017 with the charitable purpose of benefiting those who are aged in our Community and its 250 (plus) Caregivers who support them. Over the last 12 months, our quality staff completed in excess of 194,000 hours of assistive personal one-to-one direct care. We have provided transport services to and from medical and healthcare appointments, family socialisation and shopping driving in excess of 103,000 kilometres. Our Registered Nurses (RN) have seen over 814 community members, providing RN services, and free face to face in-home visits with topical advice ranging from illness through to how to obtain a Government Funded Home Care Package. DCCS is proud to have also provided the following activities and services over the last 12 months along with each key outcome: (1). Our free Aged Care Education Advice Centre (Mosman), provided around 6,500 individuals within our community with advocacy, counselling and free service connections. We attended community events reaching approximately 1,000 individuals per month. (2). To connect and support those living with dementia and their families, we offered weekly (52 sessions) Joyful Singer sessions at a purpose built boutique Joyful Living Home. Singing is beneficial to seniors, as it assists in articulation, rhythm and breathing, as well as reducing some adverse symptoms associated with dementia. (3). Aged Care Educational Information Seminars were periodically at our Mosman and Narrabeen Advice Centres, Councils, Chambers of Commerce, and in partnership with local sporting groups. Approximately 15-20 community members attend each seminar. These seminars delivered advice regarding subsidised in-home care packages to elders wishing to stay in their own home. (4). Pastoral, counselling, dementia specific support and grievance counselling to carers, families of clients this year via face to face, over the phone, one on one or in groups. (5). 100% of our Caregivers attended a minimum standard of aged care and dementia training for special needs groups (i.e. Dementia & LGBTIQ) to provide respectful, patient, understanding and creative person-centred care which enables a meaningful, purpose-filled life. Accredited Montessori for Dementia Care and Caregiver education was provided together with skills based training, face to face RN instruction, revision training modules, and external training, to retain a high skillset and keep abreast of any changes to our industry.
